Aerial-Vision
Worldwide, an aerial advertising creative buying shop was
questioned by authorities investigating the recent mysterious
odor that overtook New York City.
In question was the companies new SkyOdor®
system that is an option on some of its banner towing and
recently advertised skywriting presentations.
The system which operates similar to digital scents that can
be sent with e-mail messages such as roses with a Valentine's
card or chocolate chip cookies. A similar system was recently
tested on rail cars and cabs in major markets and caused quite
a stir.
An Aerial-Vision representative stated, "Our SkyOdor®
system is only effective within a 900 ft. radius from the
aircraft and is offered only on our banner towing beach flight
programs that take place within 500 ft. of the viewing audience."
When asked about the Skywriting system, AV-W representatives
said, "The system can be adapted to cover much larger
areas and has relatively an unlimited capacity of digital
scents, designs and odors in which it can project."
"The system has never been used over any major market.
We still get questioned anytime rain cancels a NASCAR race,
go figure."
